DRINKS & DRAMA
In the mood for some booze and the bard? Sophocles and some shots? Then join our tipsy theatre troupe to see which of our actors can handle their lines and their liquor!
A small cast of actors will tackle abbreviated versions of theatre classics and they may (or may not) be under the influence. At the end of the performance you, the audience, have to guess which actors overindulged and which did not.
A fun, interactive, audience participation show (read: drinking game) featuring classic plays on the rocks and with a twist!
This show is FREE but donations are appreciated! Funds will go towards our October Trunk or Treat event for kids.

Red Lodge Songwriter's Festival
For three days in June, the streets of Red Lodge, bars, cafes, and theaters become a gathering place for songwriters from Nashville, Montana and around the country. This is the festival that showcases the art of songwriting at its highest level.
The 9th Annual Red Lodge Songwriter Festival will feature twenty-six great songwriters, in eight downtown venues performing over forty shows. You won’t want to miss this amazing opportunity to hear these songwriters sharing the stage playing their songs and telling the stories behind the songs.
“I’ve been playing songwriters festivals all over the country for the last 20 years and the Red Lodge Songwriter Festival is hands down one of my all time favs. The town is a gem in the Rockies, the people who support it are generous and enthusiastic, the weather is perfect and the music is awesome! Doesn’t get any better than Red Lodge Songwriter Festival” Brett Jones, Hit Songwriter
In addition to entertainment our festival supports music education in our community. Since 2016 the RMSWF, Inc. has donated more than $120,000 to fulfill our mission.
All we’re missing is you. We would like to invite you to Red Lodge and our surrounding mountains we are proud to call home. We look forward to sharing this incredible weekend of songwriting, creativity, and music with you.

Mike Murray Duo
Montana Singer/Songwriter, Mike Murray, has a voice that is honest, direct, and embodies the pureness of a classic folk storyteller. His music carries a message of camaraderie and empathy, while drawing inspiration from his adventurous life experiences. His tales are all his own, but somehow the way he tells them, we can all find ourselves in his words.

Tim Snider - Solo Show
TIM SNIDER
Music runs deep for Tim, spanning back generations. His great-grandfather was a doctoral graduate violinist and composer from Harvard. His great-grandmother was an opera singer and his grandmother—a passionate violinist as well—prophesied that he would be the family’s next violinist while holding him on her deathbed when he was two months old. An Itzhak Perlman performance on Sesame Street became his earliest musical inspiration—at just three-and-a-half—and classical music first provided the impetus to learn his instrument. Over the years other influences have come into play: from exposure to the raw energy of rock music he picked up guitar, watching a Ben Harper concert turned him onto songwriting, and sojourns in Spain and Cuba introduced flamenco, salsa, and Afro-Cuban rhythms into his repertoire. Embracing these diverse influences, Tim's musical odyssey took him to uncharted territories. Returning to college, he spent a year studying jazz and eventually rediscovered his love of classical music.

Big Sky City Lights
Nick Spear and Susan O’Dea
live in two completely different worlds. She’s Urban, he’s Rural. She’s Millennial, he’s GenX. She’s a kale chicken caesar, he’s last night’s cold pizza. But when they sing together, they are undeniably and effortlessly aligned. Two things that shouldn’t work actually do, and the connection point for them has always been harmony.
Big Sky City Lights is an indie folk duo whose dreamy, harmony-infused Americana sound is both vintage and of-the-moment. The project emerged as a remote partnership between NYC-based Susan and Montana-based Nick.

Hillfolk Noir
Grooving. Raucous. Genre-bending. And always a ton of fun.
Built on more than 15 years of tradition, today’s Hillfolk takes their acoustic guitar, double bass, and “anything you can find at a hardware store” sound and integrates driving drums and an electrified sound, kicking down limitations to create a vibe that goes beyond their Americana “junkerdash” roots. Want to call it bluegrass’s trouble-making cousin? Fine by us. A bit of string-band blues? Sure ‘nuff. A concoction of electrified rockin’ soulful folksy witchcraft mayhem? Now you’re talking, mama.

Tom Walter
Acoustic Show
There was a lot of music in the house I grew up in, my mother playing piano in the basement as she waited for the laundry to finish, my older sisters practicing their band instruments and my older brother listening obsessively to classical music. When I got old enough, I tried my hand at violin (a disaster!), piano (better), and trumpet (loud), before finally settling on guitar.

The Two Tracks
THE TWO TRACKS
THE TWO TRACKS
Americana from Sheridan, WY.
Julie’s driving rhythm guitar, on-stage enthusiasm and vocal prowess dance perfectly with Dave's rich voice and unique cello playing, adding a layer of surprise to the band’s sound. This is complemented wonderfully by the four part harmonies, and rock solid groove filled out by Taylor Phillps on bass and Fernando Serna on drums. All seasoned musicians and good friends, they have knit their passions into a tight band family, and it comes across in their albums and on stage. Their latest Cheers to Solitude, was one of the last records made at The Butcher Shoppe in Nashville with Grammy winning engineer Sean Sullivan (Sturgill Simpson, Travelin’ McCourys), and was produced by Will Kimbrough (Todd Snider, Rodney Crowell) and mixed by Grammy winner Trina Shoemaker (Tanya Tucker, Sheryl Crow), spending several weeks on the Top 40 Americana Radio Chart, and the Top 10 Alt-Country Specialty Chart.

HALLOWEEN Costume Party
Halloween Party- generally speaking with our events, Magpie is taking a risk, with this event, it was on the decorator and bands, since the ticket sales were going to them. Given that on Wednesday we had only sold 8 tickets, we decided to pause the event as planned. Mike and I are super bummed, but we hope that next year we can have some pre-sales that dictate a big bash! :)
The decor will still be set up somewhere. We hope to have music and still a contest, but probably will be shifting days and/or if there are tickets or just hopefully some folks visiting on Hallow’s Eve.

Fireside Collective
FIRESIDE COLLECTIVE
**RESERVED SEATS WILL NO LONGER BE AVAILABLE AFTER 5PM**
